This is our second Knitter’s Day Out for 2026! Enjoy a special day with our wonderful local community of knitters who enjoy sharing, learning new techniques, and just having fun being together.

This special in-person Knitter’s Day Out is packed with technique and project lessons, tips for keeping your body relaxed, delightful class kits, sharing, healthy lunch, shopping, and fun.

Location: 2182 Comox Ave - The Little Red Church

Hands-on projects and lessons include:

• The focus of this day will be on cable stitches! You will learn about reading the chart and what does it mean to hold the cable needle in the back or front, and what direction is the cable stitch leaning. You will create a sampler of several different cable stitch patterns to help reinforce interpreting the chart and practicing using the cable needle. You will also learn alternative methods of moving the stitches without the cable needle.

• Show n’ Share – the team is bringing a number of items to share with you demonstrating different uses of cable stiches and the patterns that were used in the construction process.

• Zipper, zipper, zipper! So many of you asked to see options for placing a zipper in your work whether it be a bag or a sweater. Guest instructor Barth Siemens will share with you several methods for adding a zipper and demonstrate his favourite options.
