Knitter’s Day Out 2026
The Knitter’s Day Out team has planned a series of events for this year to address some of the requested class ideas from the survey.
Location: 2182 Comox Ave - The Little Red Church
Class Dates:
February 21st, Socks on circular needles. This half-day course includes working through the steps of knitting a sock on 2 short circular needles. You will learn about the process of creating the rib, leg, ankle, heal, foot and toe using this wonderful method. You will leave with a small sample sock to help remember the steps.
May 30th, Knitter’s Day Out event. This full-day course includes learning about casting on/off demo, knitting Mosiac patterns, how to add a zipper to a knitted garment, and adding beads to any project. Lunch, snacks, coffee and tea provided. Uptown Yarns will also join us with a selection of items from their store.
September 26th, Knitter’s Day Out event. This full-day course includes learning about Steek Stitches, how to fix a hole or dropped stitch, short rows, and a small project to learn double-stranded knitting in the round. Lunch, snacks, coffee and tea provided. Uptown Yarns will also join us with a selection of items from their store.
November 14th, Cable Knitting. This half-day course includes working through a sample project learning to knit cables, use a cable needle, and about the crazy codes and terms for knitting cables.
