Knitter's Day Out - Circular Socks - Feb 21
At the last Knitter’s Day Out many students indicated on the survey that they would like to learn more about knitting socks, including turning the heal, short rows, and working with two short circular needles.
At this session, you will create your own little sample sock - in just 3 hours!
Date: February 21, 2026 Time: 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: 2182 Comox Ave - The Little Red Church House
Cost: $45 Class limited to 20 students
Hands-on projects and lessons include:
I will provide enough sock yarn to complete the sample sock.
You will begin at the beginning by casting onto your circular needle and then working the first row to link the second needle and begin knitting in the round.
The sock begins at the ankle with a 2 by 2 rib.
The back of the ankle and the bottom of the heal is next.
Once the heal of short-rows is turned you continue on the foot portion as you decrease stitches.
Finally you will shape the toe and close with kitchener stitches.
Written instructions are included as well as a chart to upsize the process to smoothly fit your own feet.
Class is limited to 20 students!
What you need to bring to class:
Two 16” circular needles - size 2.50
Something to drink in a sealed container
